Arizona TIPS Training basically consists of Title 4 which includes of two sets of training, basic training and training for managers. The Arizona Title 4 responsible alcohol training program starts with the Basic course. This is the course general employees take to get their BASIC training, managers also must start with this course.
BASIC TRAINING
An Owner, Agent, or Manager engaged in the daily business operations must hold both a Basic Certificate of Completion, the Basic courses can cover off-sale, on-sale, or a combination of both. The Basic Title 4 training Certificate of Completion remains valid for a duration of three years from the date it was completed. Once an employee has passed the BASIC Course they may then take the Managers Course
Manager Training
Managers responsible for the daily operations of a business seeking a Liquor License or Management Agreement approval must successfully finish an officially recognized Management Title 4 Training Course. Enrolling in and successfully completing a Management Course requires a prior Basic Certificate of Completion. The Management Title 4 Training Certificate of Completion will remain in effect for a period of five years starting from the date noted on the certificate, many employers in Arizona will require or prefer job candidates who have taken state approved basic Title 4 training. They want you to be familiar with Arizona law so you can serve accordingly to the law.
Any person who sells or serves alcoholic beverages in the state of Arizona should take and pass the Arizona Title 4 Basic class on a voluntary basis to help protect themselves and their employer from potential legal incidents. The certification must be renewed every three years.
